We met with our Loan Officer on December 10th. It felt like we were signing every piece of paper in the office, but things appeared positive with regards to the loan approval process. However, the timing of our meeting and the loan process could not be more frustrating. Of course it is the holiday season (Christmas and New Year) so offices are closed and this has caused some delay in moving the process forward. RH is waiting to receive employment verification documentation from my employment, but no one is in the office until January 5th. Therefore, our paperwork has been sitting in RH's office since December 17th and they can not forward our information on to the underwriter until employment verification is done. This of course is at the fault of no one....it just creates some anxiety while you wait. We've provided all of the requested paperwork and documentation so hopefully this delay does not require RH to need any updated documents, bank statements, or other nonsense.
My advice would be that if you're looking for a quick approval so that you can move forward with other parts of the building process....the December holiday time is not the best with getting things done quickly. Having said this, i'll remain positive and wait patiently!!
I lived what you're going through for a while. I think the anticipation of "waiting" makes it so much worse. Hopefully, after the New Year, you both will get that phone call you've been waiting for. Once the approval is final, then comes the groundbreaking and once that happens, everything will go relatively fast. Have a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement! I'm looking forward to that phone call :)!! Happy new Year to you also....
